At a glance

This 3-day instructor-led training is designed to prepare cyber specialists and managers to develop and deliver Incident Response (IR) Tabletop Exercises as part of a regular training program to support operational readiness. The course will focus on the research, development and delivery stages of TTX development. 

Course goals

The TTX Train the Trainer Course is focused on enabling cyber specialists/managers to prepare, develop and deliver technical and executive level IR TTXs that are relevant to their organisation. 

After completing this course, learners should be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and role of exercises for an organisation.
  • Prepare the plan to develop a TTX. 
  • Develop a TTX scenario inject based on threat and organisational considerations. 
  • Execute the delivery phase of a TTX. 
  • Describe the process for evaluating and reporting on a TTX.

Who this course helps

Intermediate to senior level incident response operators, managers of incident response teams including those who are required to develop or oversee exercises for cyber response teams as part of regular internal training programs. 

This course is designed for senior responders or technical managers with a background in incident management and cyber response. A background in cyber threat intelligence and cyber incident management will enable course outcomes. 

What to bring

Students should bring their own laptop computer with the latest browser of choice and the ability to connect to the Internet. Students will receive class handouts and material during the activity.

Students will receive an activity book and access to all required class materials and tools.
