ThreatSpace is an engaging practical focused activity offered by Mandiant. In this 2 day delivery, security professionals
access a virtual environment that simulates real-world IT infrastructure, including network segments, workstations,
servers, and applications. While within this environment, participants will be exposed to and experience real attacks and threat TTPs derived from threat intelligence enhancing their knoweldge and skills.
This two-day instructor-led engagement focusses on the recent threat trends globally. This workshop is great for junior and senior practitioners looking to stay up to date on some of the most common threat tactics, gaining exposure to them live on the range understanding how to practically identify and respond to them.
Course goals
TheatSpace comes in varying formats based on the training requirement for individuals and teams. This offering is focused on individuals and providing security professionalss with real world exposure to threats and their TTPs.
This activity is designed as a refresher and uplift activity for individuals to gain exposure to a range of common threat tactics as reported by Mandiant Intelligence and M-Trends reporting. This activity spends time focusing on specific TTPs used by actors ensuring an understanding of how to practically identify, triage, investigate and respond to these threat actions through providing a live threat on a range using these tactics. The session will be broken down into discussing these threats and then experiencing them.
Each package will be focused on:
- Demonstrating live response actions to common global threats based on intelligence.
- Understand how to identify, investigate and respond to those specific threats.
- Practice identification, triage and investigation of the threat actions live within the environment.
Who this course helps
Incident analysts/responders, SOC analysts and junior members who have completed incident response training and some practical activities who are ready for more hands-on activities and advanced threats or senior members looking to refresh and update knowledge and skills.
This offering is designed for responders with some experience in incidents and live analysis from junior analysts with experience in analysis and response or more senior responders looking to build experience and gain an opportunity for practical based hands-on threat updates.
What to bring
Students should bring their own laptop computer with the latest browser of choice and the ability to connect to the Internet. Students will receive class handouts, temporary credentials to get access to Mandiant Advantage, and directions on how to connect to the lab environment.
Course materials
Students will receive a lab book and access to all required class materials and tools.
